The research work on the Foundation’s intangible assets referring to the period 2003-2007 was concluded in 2009, and the gathering of information for the period 2008-2009 has already started. The research project is one of FONDACA’s promoted programmes on the topic of the management of citizens organizations. The work is based on the premise that, at present, there are no eligible instruments to recognize and evaluate specific elements appertaining to civic organizations such as the knowledge and relationships built up over time, the theories and methods which have been developed, and the characteristics of the personnel employed. From here the idea of acquiring knowledge capitalized in Italy and Europe from the reporting of the intellectual capital of enterprises, in order to create an instrument that helps civic organizations in accounting for intangible assets which constitute their value.
