Responding to the global governance changes and expressing the meaning of "citizenship" for companies and responsible people, the "stakeholder engagement" phenomenon has become ever more widespread and important in relation to companies' risk management and reputations. FONDACA, through a path of research and study, has designed engagement activities involving focus groups, questionnaires, workshops, working groups and events.

FONDACA lead the UniCredit Group in the start up of its pilot project about the "materiality" of its Sustainability Report themes. The Foundation collaborated with the company staff in the organization of focus groups, divided into different typologies of stakeholders and focused on themes and objectives outlined in the Sustainability Report.

FONDACA has contributed to the stakeholder policy definition and implementation of the Barilla Group.

Earlier in 2011 FONDACA together with Barilla organized the seminar: "Stakeholder Engagement and Business Value: the challenges of the future". Academics, corporate and civil society representatives participated as speakers and discussants in order to compare different theoretical and operative opinions and to create new knowledge regarding stakeholder engagement.
