Civic resources for urban safety

The contribution of citizens' organizations to the definition and implementation of participated policies for urban safety has long been the focus of FONDACA, that specifically intended to bring out the multiplicity of strategies and operational models that civic organizations use to interact and collaborate with institutions in this field.

Safety policies and active citizenship. Forms of, opportunities for and obstacles to the collaboration between local authorities and active citizenship organizations in safety policies.

In 2009, FONDACA supported the Safe City sector of Genoa city in the design and organization of a conference focused on the cooperation between local governments and organizations active in safety policies. The conference was held on March 11th and was attended by Italian and European experts and scholars, representatives of local governments and civic organizations engaged in the participated safety.

Civic resources for urban safety. A survey on the role of active citizenship organizations.
During the meeting in Genoa in March 2009, FONDACA conducted a survey on the role of civic organizations in safety policies. The research dealt with both the thematizations coming from the scientific community, experts and policy makers and with the actions which the civic organizations promote or participate in.
