COSMIC PROJECT |

On April 29th the results of the European research project "COSMIC - CSR oriented supply-chain management to improve competitiveness in the textile/clothing sector" will be presented. The project has been coordinated by Sant'Anna School of Advanced Studies of Pisa, while FONDACA has participated as research partner, together with the Agency for Development Empolese Valdelsa and the Centre of Innovation and Conceptual Development of New Products (CID) of the Girona University. The presentation will be held at Sant'Anna School of Advanced Studies of Pisa as part of the international conference "Exploring the Link Between Competitiveness and Corporate Social Responsibility".

Civic Evaluation on Public Administrations activities and services |

The Department for Public Administration has started an experimental project on civic evaluation concerned citizens' involvement in the evaluation of municipal services. The project involves 14 public administrations and it is carried out in partnership with Cittadinanzattiva movement and FONDACA in the framework of PON-Governance 2007-2013. The project aims at verifying the programming mode and the improvement of the public services from the citizens' perspective.

Experimental course on active citizenship |

FONDACA will organize "Through the mirror, Experimental course on active citizenship" which will be held from 18 to 20 February in Rome. The course will involve a small group of participants in order to share of knowledge on active citizenship and to test and evaluate the training course. |

In occasion of the seminar on "European Citizenship" that will be held on December 1st at University of Bari, it will be present the book Citizens in Europe. The role of citizens in the European democratic experiment written by Giovanni Moro. The seminar will take place at the room "V. Starace" of the Bari University and the speakers of the seminar will be Giuseppe Cotturri (University of Bari) Giovanni Moro (University of Macerata) e Ennio Triggiani (University of Bari).

The book Citizens in Europe. The role of citizens in the European democratic experiment written by Giovanni Moro has just been published by Carocci. The book analyses how the citizens are the protagonists of the European democratic experiment, consider not in the realization of a model, but rather as an attempt to build up a democracy differing from those built and experimented by national states.

Beyond the orders. Mayors and the local safety policy |

During last September ANCI - National Association of Italian Municipalities and Cittalia Foundation presented the updated research's results on the orders promulgated by Mayors on the issue of local safety carried out after the passing of the 125/2008 law and 94/2009 law. The publication includes a new chapter on the civic participation in local safety policies in which are reported the results of FONDACA's research on "Civic Resources for Urban Safety: a survey on the role of active citizenship organizations" carried out in March 2009 and commissioned by the Municipality of Genova - Safe City Department. The research is focused on the roles of the citizens organized within the local safety policies both in Europe and international level.

The Euro-American Colloquia on Citizenship - American Session |

The American Session 2009 of the "Euro-American Colloquia on Citizenship" program will be held on October 28-29 in Boston and New York. Main speaker of the seminar on ‘Feeding Ourselves, Feeding the World: Food, Governance and Sustainability' will be Paolo Barilla, VP of Barilla G. & R. Fratelli. FONDACA will organize the session in cooperation with the Centre for Responsible Leadership, Boston College and the City University of New York.
