The book "Citizens in Europe: Active Citizenship and the Community democratic experiment", which is the English version of "Cittadini in Europa. L'attivismo civico e l'esperimento democratico comunitario", written by Giovanni Moro and published by Carocci in 2009, has been published by Springer last December. The text intends to clarify how and to what extent organized citizens are among the protagonists of '"the democratic European experiment", in the first part by analyzing the thematizations on the nature of the European Union, of EU citizenship and of the participatory democracy models, and in the second part by discussing the main results of research projects and papers on active European citizenship, which have been carried out since 2002 by Active Citizenship Network and FONDACA.
