"Through the Mirror" – An Experimental Course on Active Citizenship. From 3rd to 5th of June, FONDACA will hold the second module of the course "Through the Mirror" – An Experimental Course on Active Citizenship. The course will involve the same participants of the previous course which FONDACA carried out in February. The new course will aim to focus on some of the issues dealt with during the first module and look into them extensively. Read more about it
Measuring the value of a non profit organization. In June 2010 FONDACA will organize a seminar in which the main results of the Foundation's research project on the analysis of the intangible assets as an accounting tool for a non profit organization will be presented. Some representatives of the third sector and some experts on the management of both profit and non profit organizations will be invited to the seminar.

Participatory democracy and deliberative democracy: a comparison. On 23rd March, in Cosenza, Lucia Mazzuca of FONDACA led a seminar entitled: “Participatory democracy and deliberative democracy: a comparison” in the Faculty of Political Sciences in the University of Calabria. During the presentation the distinguishing features, the strong points and the critical issues of both participatory and deliberative democracy models were analysed making reference to studies related to this field and, in particular, to data resulting from the analysis of a sample of participative cases carried out in Italy.
How much do citizens count in Europe? On 27th April the seminar “How much do citizens count in Europe” took place at the Institute of International Policy Studies’ headquarters in Milan. During the meeting the themes of Giovanni Moro’s most recent publication, Citizens in Europe. Civic Activism and the Community Democratic Experimentwere presented and discussed. Besides the author, participants included: Marina Calloni of Bicocca University of Milan, Carlo Corazza of EU Representation in Milan and Chiara Lucchin of Caritas Ambrosiana association – Europe Office. Vittorio Borelli, of EAST magazine, was the chairman of the discussion.

Master in Corporate Citizenship. Integrated Strategies of Corporate Responsibility. FONDACA has just published the notice for admission 2010 to the Master in Corporate Citizenship. Integrated Strategies of Corporate Responsibility 6th edition, organized by FONDACA with the support of the Sant'Anna School of Advanced Studies of Pisa and the Boston College - Winston Center for Leadership and Ethics. The training course is devoted to individuals operating both in private sector and in public administrations and citizens' organizations, as well as to people engaged in research and counselling fields. On March, 29 FONDACA joined the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) multi-stakeholder network becoming an Organizational Stakeholder. On April 29th the results of the European research project “COSMIC - CSR oriented supply-chain management to improve competitiveness in the textile/clothing sector” will be presented in Pisa. The project has been coordinated by the Sant'Anna School of Advanced Studies, while FONDACA has participated as research partner together with the Empolese Valdelsa Agency for Development and with the Centre of Innovation and Conceptual Development of New Products (CID) of Girona University. On the 19th of April, a seminar entitled "Corporate Social Responsibility, between theory and practice" was held in the Faculty of Psychology 2 (Room 1) of the University "La Sapienza" of Rome. The two speakers at the seminar were Alessia Sabbatino e Monica Ruffa from FONDACA.
On March 19th Lamezia Termes' Town Hall hosted a regional training meeting for the three Calabrese provinces (Lamezia Terme, Vibo Valentia and Reggio Calabria) that were taking part in the Experimental project of Civic Evaluation proposed by the Department for Public Administration, in collaboration with Cittadinanzattiva movement and FONDACA.
