Frontier Images. On the 9th and 10th of November the final conference of the PRIN project on the topic "Frontier Images" will be held at the University of Milan "Bicocca". During the two days the group of researchers participating in the project will present the results of their theoretical, empirical and audio-visual investigations. On that occasion FONDACA will discuss the recently concluded research about the presence and role of immigrants within Italian civil society organizations.
Civil Society Index Project: Third Advisory Committee Meeting. In October the third Advisory Committee Meeting will be organized, within the second edition of the Civil Society Index Project, implemented by Cittadinanzattiva with FONDACA's scientific cooperation.The committee is composed of a team of experts coming from different areas of civil society and which has given its contribution to the work of mapping and analysing the Italian civil society during the previous meetings. During the third meeting, the final outputs of the research will be presented and discussed in order to contribute to the drafting of the final report of the project.
GOVERNANCE
Workshop - The Other Side of the Coin. The Single Currency and European Citizenship.The workshop on "The Other Side of the Coin. The Single Currency and European Citizenship” organized by FONDACA, by the Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence and by the Research College "The Transformative Power of Europe”, will take place on 11th October at the Free University of Berlin. The workshop follows up on a previous seminar held in 2009 at the Pisa Sant’Anna School of Advanced Studies and will be focused on the role of the single currency in influencing the construction of a Union citizenship. The workshop will be organized through three round tables of discussion in which the greatest European experts in this subject will take part. More about the program on the web site soon.
Capalbio Award to Giovanni Moro's book.The 2010 edition of the Capalbio Award was presented on August 28th in Capalbio Town Hall. It was created to support those approaches that promote integration between cultural, political and social fields. In the "Europe” section of this event Giovanni Moro received the award for his book Cittadini in Europa. L’attivismo civico e l’esperimento democratico comunitario, edited by Carocci.
CORPORATE CITIZENSHIP
The Future of Sustainability Reporting in the Food Sector. FONDACA in collaboration with Barilla Group is organizing the seminar "The Future of Sustainability Reporting in the Food Sector". The event will take place in Milan, via Palestro 2, on 8th October 2010, from 9.30 to 13.30. It will focus on the sustainability reporting practices in the food sector, present the new GRI "Food Processing Sector Supplement" and analyze the future perspectives comparing to different experiences. Business men, Institutional members and Professors will have a share in the roundtables. The participation is free of charge, it has to be confirmed. More about the program on the web site soon.
United Nations Global Compact. A series of themed seminars. The themed seminars program is ongoing, within the Global Compact Network Italy framework. The themed seminars give participants in the Italian Network the opportunity to meet, discuss and exchange ideas on issues and problems associated with the implementation of the ten principles promoted by the initiative, as well as aspects of more general interest connected with the subject of sustainability and corporate responsibility. More detailed information will be available soon on Global Compact Network Italy website.
The final seminar "Civic evaluation and Urban Quality: participatory analysis of the experimental project" was held on July 5th in Rome. The seminar was organized by the Department for Public Administration together with Formez, the Cittadinanzattiva movement and FONDACA.
From 20th to 23rd August the 9th World Assembly of CIVICUS was held - World Alliance for Citizen Participation of which FONDACA has been an Italian member since 2006. Read the programme of the conference
Issue n.31 of EAST - Europe and Asia Strategies journal has just been published. FONDACA has been collaborating with the journal since 2004 through the production of materials from the Foundation's main programmes and through the participation of Giovanni Moro, president of the Foundation, in the journal's Scientific Committee.
