The Civil Society Index is a project promoted by the international NGO Civicus which consists of a research-action on the state of civil society and its organizations. The goal is to collect the same information from different countries and, based on this, to make it possible a comparative assessment of the state of civil societies from their structural points of view of their structures, operational environments, values and impacts on reality. Regarding Italy, Cittadinanzattiva is the project's manager, while FONDACA has the responsibility of scientific research.
