The Global Compact Network Italia (GCNI) is an initiative aimed at supporting the diffusion of the Global Compact in Italy. It is an initiative for the promotion of corporate social responsibility which the former Secretary-General of the United Nations, Kofi Annan, launched in 1999. Its mission is to ensure that Global Compact has ever greater visibility, by receiving an increasing number of adhesions and can also be considered the mandatory instrument of substantial reform for the company’s and its stakeholders’ way of operating.

As Global Compact Network Italia’s focal point, FONDACA also carried out during 2009, along with an intense coordination and support activity (ordinary activity), a series of projects intended to consolidate and proliferate the UN Global Impact nationwide. In addition to all this they also conducted an in depth study of related themes, with the goal of facilitating the integration of the ten principles into the daily strategies and practices of enterprises and adhering organizations.
