Since 2003 FONDACA has been carrying out the "Euro American colloquia on citizenship" program. It promotes the exchange of knowledge among scholars and actors from the public arena (political, institutional, private, social and civic) in order to help overcome the "Transatlantic Divide" between Europe and the United States on the topic of citizenship.
The choice of the theme ‘citizenship' comes from the desire to focus the debate and discussion on the differences and similarities of one of the key elements of American and European identity.
As of today, FONDACA has conducted 7 editions of the program, in partnership with Italian and American universities, public institutions and other organizations. Overall 32 events have been organized, 15 in Europe (Rome, Milan, Macerata) and 17 in the United States (Washington D.C., New York, Boston) involving 150 experts from different fields.
