Library

Starting from April 2025, the Fondaca Library, established in 2011 and part of the Italian National Library System through its affiliation with the Rome SBN Hub from 2012 to 2024, has been donated to UPTER – Università Popolare di Roma and transferred to Palazzo Englefield, at 157 Via Quattro Novembre. As of the same date, this location also hosts the legal and operational headquarters of the Foundation. More information is available at: https://www.upter.it/biblioteca

The thematic areas structuring the Library’s holdings represent its distinctive feature, as they focus on niche fields of knowledge for which no other comparable centres for the collection and preservation of informational and research materials currently exist in the Lazio Region. These areas include active citizenship, corporate responsibility, new forms of governance, and European integration.

The Library’s collection, comprising Italian and international books, journals, research reports and papers, academic theses, and other materials commonly referred to as grey literature, has been fully catalogued and remains searchable through the OPAC system . The collection has retained its integrity as the “Fondaca Collection” and, together with the other UPTER holdings, has become part of the Rome Cultural Institutes Library Network, while continuing to use the same search system.

Through a specific memorandum of understanding, the two institutions have committed to identifying and implementing the most effective forms of integration between their libraries, as well as to developing new activities related to their enhancement and use.
